Icon Health and Fitness Inc. is the manufacturer of the Epic T60 treadmill which is offered for sale exclusively in Costco, the discount retailer. Its a product that is very useful with many desirable features for the home gym and for general fitness training. Epic T60 treadmill is well build considering its affordable price, and a perfect purchase for a well equipped home gym.
Some of the downsides of the Epic are, since the pricing is under $1,000, it doesn’t have quite the same solid built construction as some other more expensive treadmills on the market. For example, the rollers that are very important in a treadmill seem to be cheaper which means that if used continually, the machine may lose some of its ability to propel the belt over time. Another is that the keypad seems to give some Icon models trouble. Also, the deck coating in this Epic treadmill model is considered to be thin. It would be wise for users to get an extended warranty from Universal technical Services (UTS) when buying an Epic T60 treadmill.
Epic T60 treadmills features an adjustable cushioned platform with a large surface and is capable of supporting users with weight up to 350 pounds. It offers pre-programmed and customizable workout programs and iFit.com, the interactive workout technology found on most Icon exercise equipment. With the optional chest sensor, iFit will control the speed and incline of the treadmill in response to the user’s heart rate providing a workout under the guidance of trainers online or on CD. Additionally, feedback and readout displays on the Epic T60 treadmill keeps track of time, distance, calories burned, speed, and pulse measured through the pulse sensor grips, heart rate is measured and displayed. Moreover, the user’s home stereo, computer, portable device and VCR can all be connected to the device to keep users entertained while training.
All treadmills possess some identical characteristics. They’re all used for exercise, have a lot of features and give you the convenience of doing your workout at home. But that’s pretty much where the similarities end. There are different treadmills for different types of users. Knowing this, don’t you think researching properly would be time well spent?
